Pune: PCMC Issues Notice To School For 200% Increase In Fees

Sangvi, 24th June 2022: The education department of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has issued a notice to the New Millenium English School, Navi Sangvi, for increasing fees from Rs 15,000 to Rs 45,000.

Care for Public Security (COPS), an organisation which works for students, has demanded audit of the school accounts in the last seven years.

According to parents, the school had charged Rs 15,000 fees last year but this it has hiked the fees to Rs 45,000. As per law, the school cannot increase fees by 15% whereas New Millenium School has hiked the fees by 200%.

PCMC officials said that the showcause notice was issued after getting many complaints from the parents and a prelimnary enquiry.
