Pimpri, 9th October 2021: Covid-19 vaccination started on January 16 in Pimpri-Chinchwad city. Till now, 20 lakh 53 thousand 373 people have been vaccinated against corona.

20% of citizens of Pimpri-Chinchwad city have not yet taken the first dose of the corona vaccine.

The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation(PCMC) has started door-to-door vaccination today. All the citizens of the city should be vaccinated without any misconception about vaccination, appealed head of the medical department, Dr Laxman Gofne.

The goal is to vaccinate as many people as possible. Citizens do not come forward for covid vaccination. Vaccine availability is abundant. Only 8,000 to 9,000 people have been vaccinated in the last four to five days.

For this, the Municipal Corporation has now started vaccination by going to housing societies, houses, and huts. Senior medical officers have planned and instructed to go door-to-door for vaccination, Gofne said.

The timing of vaccination centres has also increased. Vaccination centres are now open from 8 am to 10 pm.

“Corona outbreak has decreased worldwide. The only reason is vaccination. All citizens of Pimpri-Chinchwad should be vaccinated. 20% of the city residents have not taken the first dose. These citizens should take the first dose immediately. There is no shortage of vaccines like before. At present, the municipal corporation has about 2.5 lakh doses of vaccine”, Gofne further said.
