Pune: PCMC To Engage Transgenders For Recovery And Penal Actions Against Citizens
Pimpri, 9th November 2023: Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh gave his approval during a recent standing committee meeting for the engagement of a self-help group comprising transgender individuals to carry out penal actions and recovery work against citizens engaged in activities detrimental to public health.
The meeting, held at the late Mayor Madhukar Pavle Auditorium within the main administrative building of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation in Pimpri, was presided over by Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh. Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil, Ulhas Jagtap, City Engineer Makarand Nikam, and various department heads and relevant officials attended the meeting.
The meeting encompassed the approval of expenses related to several significant projects, including road repairs in Municipal Ward No. 19 B Block, Bhat Nagar, Kohinoor Shangrila, Sudarshan Nagar, Golande Estate, and other localities. Construction work in graveyards and burial grounds was also sanctioned.
In Ward No. 14 of the municipality, the meeting authorized the asphalting of main internal roads using the hot mix method, maintenance and repair of school buildings in Kalbhor Nagar, and also the expenditure for asphalting works in Nigdi Pradhikaran area (Ward No. 15).
Expenses for organizing the primary program of the Indian Swachhata League 2.0, aimed at creating awareness among citizens, were approved, alongside expenses for structural repairs in Chikhli, Jadhavwadi, and other areas within Ward No. 2.
The meeting greenlit funds for laying Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) pipelines and conducting ancillary works for rainwater drainage in various locations in Municipal Ward No. 2, Jadhavwadi. It also approved expenditures for purchasing materials related to the Government District Level School Sports Competition 2022-23 from the Sports Department.
Additionally, the meeting sanctioned the purchase of vaccines for the municipality’s veterinary department, the installation of CCTV systems in various wards, and the annual maintenance and repair of CCTV systems in secondary schools.
Under the E Regional Office, funds were allocated for improving sewerage channels in Moshi, Charholi, Vadmukhwadi, Dudulgaon, and other places, as well as for construction work in Ward No. 17. Construction works in Gurudwara premises, Saili complex area in Ravet, Premlok Park, Dalvi Nagar, and more were approved for Ward No. 16 and Ward No. 17.
The meeting also authorized the construction of drains adjacent to Sharayu Toyota and construction works in various other locations in Ward No. 8, Shinde Wasti, and Peth of Ravet area in Ward No. 16, as well as construction works in Chinchwade Nagar area in Ward No. 17.
Further approvals were granted for laying paving blocks and tree-mixing, construction work in Thergaon for Ward No. 24, and expenditure on the construction and painting of the remaining building of Kamla Nehru School in Pimpri, Ward No. 21.
Improvement of sewerage pipes in Bhosari, Dighi, Bopkhel, and other areas, as well as drainage works from Yashwant Nagar to Nehru Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Kharalwadi, Gavhane Vasti to Chakrapani Vasahat Road, Sadguru Nagar, and more under Kasarwadi Sewage Treatment Center, were authorized. Additionally, expenses for architectural repairs in schools and other buildings at Thergaon Gaothan in Ward No. 23 were approved.
