Pune Photo Journalist Arul Horizon Wins Military Photography Exhibition Award

Pune, November 30, 2019: The winners of the 10th Southern Naval Command Military Photography Exhibition being conducted at Centre Square Mall Ernakulam from 29 Nov-01 Dec19 under the aegis of the Southern Naval Command and Press Club Ernakulam were announced on 29 Nov 2019. Shri Arul Horizon, Photographer of Indian Express Daily at Pune won the “Southern Naval Command award” for the best photo exhibit. The ‘Venduruthy award’ for the first runner up has been won by Shri. Mahesh Prabhu, Mangalam daily, Kochi. The ‘Garuda award’ for the second runner up has been won by Shri A Sanesh, The New Indian Express Daily at Kochi.

The exhibits were judged by a jury consisting of Rear Admiral Swaminathan, VSM, Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST), Commodore Ramesh Menon, Commodore Superintendent of Naval Aircraft Yard(NAY), Kochi, and Commodore Hari Krishnan, Director Centre of excellence in Ethics Leadership and Behavioural Studies (CELABS). The best three out of the 96 entries received from photo journalists from across the country for this year’s Military Photo Exhibition were selected.

The awards would be presented to the winners on 01 Dec 19 at 6 pm by Vice Admiral AK Chawla, AVSM, NM, VSM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command at Centre Square Mall Ernakulam.
