Pimpri, 17th October 2023: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, recognized as one of Maharashtra’s leading municipal entities, is dedicated to enhancing the lives of its residents. To ensure the upcoming budget reflects the needs and aspirations of its citizens, the Municipal Corporation is embarking on an initiative to incorporate work suggested by residents in the budget for the fiscal year 2024-2025.

Since 2007, the Municipal Corporation has been proactively inviting input from citizens for the budget preparation process, aligning the budget with the aspirations of the community. This tradition continues, and for the 2024-2025 budget, citizens are encouraged to provide their valuable suggestions.

Commissioner and Administrator of the Municipal Corporation, Shekhar Singh, announced that the corporation is committed to considering the recommendations put forth by citizens across various sectors while crafting the budget. Citizens can propose works that are essential and suitable for their areas, and they are encouraged to do so by visiting their local area office or ward. To facilitate this, “Citizen Notification Application Forms” in the prescribed format will be distributed free of charge during office hours in each zonal office, as well as at the Municipal Corporation building. Citizens can also access the form on the official website at www.pcmcindia.gov.in. The Municipal Corporation will accept citizen notifications until November 10, 2023, at 5:00 PM, through the relevant field offices.

The proposed works will be meticulously reviewed by the respective Zonal Officer and Executive Engineer, and suitable development projects will be included in the budget. Citizens must exercise care while submitting their suggestions, ensuring that they don’t propose large-scale works such as bridges, flyovers, new roads, or building construction, as the budgetary limit for such initiatives is set at 10 lakhs. The Municipal Corporation cannot entertain proposals for works declared illegal by the Supreme Court. Therefore, citizens are advised to accurately specify the nature and location of their proposed works in their notification applications and use the work code numbers as per Tables 1 and 2.

Citizens are encouraged to contact the Regional Office or the Sarathi Helpline at 8888006666 for any clarification or information regarding their notification applications before submission. It’s important to note that applications submitted at any other field office will not be considered during the selection process. Following the submission of an application, citizens can track the status of their proposed work based on the file number to determine if it has been accepted in the budget, and they will receive an explanation in case of non-acceptance.

Commissioner Shekhar Singh emphasized that a person can file a single application for one job but is welcome to submit multiple applications for multiple tasks. He appealed to citizens to provide constructive and valuable suggestions, assuring that their input is highly regarded and appreciated.
