Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Dispose of Seized Liquor Worth Rs 4.31 Lakh in Alandi

Alandi, 28th January 2025: The Alandi Police Station has successfully disposed of seized liquor worth Rs 4.31 lakh from 70 cases registered under the Maharashtra Prohibition Act of 1949. This action was taken today as part of a seven-point agenda initiated by the Chief Minister and Home Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, to streamline government processes and improve citizens’ daily lives.

The disposal operation was carried out under the supervision of Sagar Divekar, an officer from the Maharashtra State Excise Department. The confiscated items included country liquor, foreign liquor, and locally brewed alcohol. The disposal was conducted in compliance with orders from the First Class Judicial Magistrate of Rajgurunagar, Pune, and the Excise Department of Pune.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to clear pending cases and manage seized goods effectively. The Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner had issued directives to implement this campaign, following the concept introduced by the Chief Minister.

The operation was guided by senior police officials, including Pimpri Chinchwad Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey, Joint Commissioner of Police Dr. Shashikant Mahavarkar, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Dr. Shivaji Pawar, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Chakan Division) Rajendra Singh Gaur.
