Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad Shooters Shine at Maharashtra State Police Shooting Championship
Pune, 23rd November 2025: Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad police shooters delivered a standout performance at the 19th Maharashtra State Police Sports Shooting Competition-2025 held in Mumbai, securing an impressive haul of 13 medals and earning key positions in the Maharashtra Police team for the upcoming All India Police Shooting Championship.
The event, organised by the Maharashtra Rifle Association, saw participation from one officer and five women police shooters from Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. Their collective performance resulted in 6 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals.

API Rakesh Kadam Named Maharashtra Police Team Captain
Rakesh Kadam — who has consistently led Pune City and Pimpri Chinchwad shooting teams to three consecutive championship titles — has been appointed captain of the Maharashtra Police team for the All India Police Shooting Competition-2025.
Kadam represented India at the Asian Shooting Championship in Jakarta last year after earning a spot on the national team.
The All India Police Shooting Competition will be held from December 1 to 6 at BSF, Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
Police Leadership Extends Congratulations
Senior officials, including the Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, Joint Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Additional Commissioners Sanjay Patil and Pankaj Deshmukh, DCPs Nikhil Pingle and Rajlaxmi Shivankar, Reserve Police Inspector Deore, and sports in-charge Hinge, congratulated all shooters and extended best wishes for the upcoming national championship.
The strong performance has boosted morale ahead of the national event, with Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad shooters aiming for another title-winning run at the All India stage.
