In accordance with the recommendations of the 15th Central Finance Commission, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has secured funds for initiatives aimed at improving air quality, conservation, water management, and efficient solid waste management. The City Action Plan, a part of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s National Clean Air Mission, has received approval from the Central Pollution Control Board. As a result, measures have been put in place to enhance air quality within the Pimpri Chinchwad city.

To address air quality concerns, two vehicles equipped with a road washer system will clean the city’s roads, significantly reducing the presence of dust particles on the streets. Additionally, a Movable Fog Cannon Dust Suppression System has been integrated into five vehicles to mitigate air pollution in the city’s primary squares. Sanjay Kulkarni, Associate City Engineer, explained that this system, when operational, will effectively limit air pollutants like PM-10, PM-2.5, SOX, NOX, and others in the areas where it is installed.
