Pune, 28th August 2020: Pune Platform for COVID-19 Response has launched a gratitude campaign to acknowledge and recognize the countless efforts of Pune’s doctors, hospitals, healthcare workers, police and administrative fraternity in last six months to fight the pandemic. Pune has been one of the epicenters for COVID in past few months and our frontline warriors have worked tirelessly round the clock to ensure safety and well-being of the citizens.

The campaign will feature outdoor hoardings, banners, radio & print promotions and a social media drive thanking the #CovidWarriors for their selfless service and efforts. It will cover city’s prominent hospitals, doctors, on-duty policemen and other frontline workers in an attempt to inculcate community activism and social awareness. As a citizen it’s our responsibility to acknowledge and respect the hard work done towards our betterment and well-being and be less critical. The entire campaign is designed and executed by acclaimed actor and director, Mr. Girish Kulkarni and Mr. Vikram Sathaye, renowned Stand-up artist & Cricket Humorist.

Supported by Pune Municipal Corporation and RSS Jan Kalyan Samiti, the campaign will also cover numerous Ganpati Mandals across Pune with banners and posters of city’s doctors and staff treating Covid patients. A small memento will also be handed over to all Covid warriors on behalf of Pune Platform for Covid Response.

Speaking about the same, Mr. Sudhir Mehta, Lead & Coordinator, Pune Platform for COVID-19 Response (PPCR), highlighted, “Over the past six months, we have witnessed our healthcare teams and essential workers coming together in an incredible way to ensure the best for us. We are all so fortunate to be part of this community and are grateful to everyone who has put in enormous efforts to help save lives. We applaud the constant endeavors of everyone in the healthcare community, local police and administrative fraternity. Extending our own gratitude in this way is truly honorable and we hope we all come out of this together much stronger.”

Speaking on the idea behind designing the campaign, Mr. Girish Kulkarni, acclaimed actor and director, said, “In any stretched war people’s moral is critical and difficult to maintain. During the course of COVID pandemic, we have witnessed how people have come together to fight it out at the frontlines. They are shouldering the responsibility of carrying all the efforts needed towards winning this war against the virus. These are the times that calls for the citizens to show their gratitude and respect towards these warriors and let them know that we are all in this together. On that note, we are glad to join hands with PPCR and roll out this campaign to pay tribute to each and every person who has contributed towards our fight against coronavirus, in every possible way.”
