Pune: PMC Demolishes Illegal Constructions At 13 Hotels on Apte Road, Ghole Road, Deshmukh Path In Shivajinagar

Shivajinagar, 3rd November 2023: The construction department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) executed a robust operation at Apte Rasta, Ghole Rasta, Deshmukh Path in the Shivajinagar area, targeting unauthorized structures. Thirteen hotels faced punitive action, encompassing the front margin, rear margin, and side margin, resulting in the clearance of a substantial area totaling nine thousand square feet.

Among the structures taken down, a hotel covering 5,800 square feet bore the brunt of the operation. The operation focused on dismantling sheds constructed with materials such as bamboo, paper, iron angles, and others.

Executive Engineer Bipin Shinde, Deputy Engineer Sunil Kadam, Branch Engineer Rahul Rasale, and Junior Engineer Samir Gadhai spearheaded the operation, employing one gas cutter and receiving assistance from 10 labourers.

Sunil Kadam, leading the operation, issued a stern warning that legal action, including the registration of a case, would follow if any of the demolished sheds were reconstructed without the necessary permits. The move is part of the Municipal Corporation’s ongoing efforts to curb unauthorized constructions and maintain public spaces.
