Pune: PMC Orders Employees Not To Wear Jeans, T-shirt and Sleepers In Office
Pune, February 12, 2021: After the Maharashtra state government banned its employees to wear informal clothes during office hours, now Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has also decided to implement this decision. A circular was issued on Wednesday by the PMC.
According to the state government, many people including important dignitaries and foreigners visit the offices and informal clothes like jeans and t-shirt will put a causal impact on people. Therefore, the employees must wear formal clothes in the office.
Officials said that PMC Commissioner also scolded some employees for wearing jeans and t-shirt during the official meeting.
According to the PMC circular, male employees are prohibited from wearing jeans and t-shirt. Female employees have been asked to wear a Saree or Punjabi dress and wear boots, sandals instead of wearing sleeper. To encourage the use of Khadi, employees have been instructed to wear Khadi clothes every Friday.
