Pune: PMC Permits Coaching Classes To Reopen From January 12

Pune, January 11, 2021: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has allowed private coaching classes, lighthouses and training centres in the city to return to their operations from January 12 onwards.

The private coaching classes are closed since March 18, 2020, after COVID-19 started to spread like wildfire in the city. Owners and operators of these classes were demanding the government to give them permission to reopen their facilities, particularly when the schools and also theatres, hotels and other commercial establishments were allowed to reopen.

PMC had earlier issued guidelines for schools before they were allowed to reopen from January 4. Officials said that similar guidelines will be released for the coaching classes and training institutions.
