Pune: PMC Resolves 93% of Property Tax Complaints; Receives 7,805 Grievances in Two Months
Pune, 22th October 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Property Tax Assessment and Collection Department has resolved 93% of the 7,805 complaints received through various channels over the past two months.
The complaints were received through PMC Care, the Right to Information (RTI) system, the Right to Services (RTS) platform, Aaple Sarkar and the Public Grievance (PG) portal. The department has focused on resolving complaints and clearing pending cases with the available manpower.
Several officers and employees from the department have been assigned duties related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and the Census. This has placed constraints on the manpower available for routine operations. Despite these challenges, the department has continued efforts to provide property tax-related services to citizens.
The department is also focusing on educating property owners whose properties have recently been assessed for taxation, providing guidance on tax payments and addressing citizens’ difficulties.
Property tax is a major source of revenue for the civic body. The department aims to increase municipal revenue while ensuring accessible, transparent and timely services for citizens.
Ravi Pawar, head of the Property Tax Assessment and Collection Department, said that officers and employees were working in coordination to provide more efficient and quality services to citizens.
