Pune: PMC Seals 14 Sonography Centres For Discrepancies
Pune, 29th August 2023: The Health Department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has sealed 14 sonography centres in the past two months for discrepancies.
The centres were sealed for two to seven days.
The PMC has registered 776 sonography centres in the city. During inspections, discrepancies were found in 14 of these centres.
These discrepancies included:
- Failure to fill out Form F, which is a mandatory document for all sonography procedures.
- Lack of signatures from the doctor or the pregnant woman.
- Incomplete or missing documents.
- Incomplete record books.
- Failure to submit monthly reports on time.
The PMC has warned the sealed sonography centres that they will face further action if they do not comply with the guidelines.
Assistant Health Officer Dr. Suryakant Devkar said that the advisory committee discussed the matter and decided to take action against the errant sonography centres.
The PMC has appealed to patients to only go to registered sonography centres that follow the guidelines.
