Pune: PMC To Award Rs 51,000 Scholarship To Meritorious Students From Municipality Schools

Pune, 25th November 2021: The Standing Committee of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has approved a proposal to provide Rs 51,000 to each meritorious student of class 10th and 12th standards. Accordingly, students from municipal schools who achieved more than 80 to 85 per cent will be given the scholarship by the PMC.

This year, a total of 461 students, including 158 students of 10th class and 303 students of 12th class, will be given Rs 51,000 each under the Sharadabai Pawar scheme. The estimated amount for this is Rs 2.35 crores. For this, Rs 1.50 crore rupees of funds is being approved in the municipal budget. The remaining Rs 1 crore has been earmarked from the funds given to the PMPML for free bus service for students in grades five to ten.
