Pune: PMC To Build 18-Km Long Cycle Track And Walkway From Sinhagad Road To Hadapsar
Pune, 23rd December 2022: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is preparing to construct a dedicated and unbroken 18 km-long “cycle track and walkway” along the canal from Sinhagad road to Hadapsar in response to the growing popularity of cycling and walking among Pune residents.
According to a top PMC officer, the initiative will be recognisable and encourage Pune residents to lead healthier lifestyles. The cycle track and walkway will be accessible to residents of Sinhagad Road, Parvati, Sahakar Nagar, Mitramandal chowk, Salisbury Park, Pune Cantonment, Race Course, and Hadapsar.
According to another officer from the PMC road department, the project’s anticipated cost was Rs 66.82 crore in the 2018 proposal. The PMC is considering including the project in the regions from Khadakwasla to Hadapsar.
The authorities are attempting to get permission from various departments for the project.
