Pune, 25th May 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) property tax department on Sunday appealed to citizens to pay their dues within the next five days to avail of the rebate announced for early payment of property tax for the financial year 2026-27.

According to PMC officials, a discount of 5-10 per cent has been announced under the general tax category to encourage timely payment of property tax. The concession will remain valid till May 31.

The civic body said Pune has around 16.05 lakh properties and, between April 1 and May 25, nearly 4.96 lakh property owners have paid Rs 648.78 crore in property tax. Of these, around 51.92 lakh payments accounting for Rs 244.69 crore were made through cheque, while 86,309 property owners deposited Rs 74.67 crore in cash.

PMC officials added that the highest number of payments were made through online and digital platforms. Around 3.58 lakh citizens used digital payment methods, contributing Rs 550.02 crore, accounting for over 82 per cent of the total collection.

The civic administration has urged citizens to avoid last-minute rush at facilitation centres and instead use the online portal to pay property tax. Payments can also be made through Bank of Maharashtra, ICICI Bank and Cosmos Bank branches.
