Pune: PMPML Files Case Against Unauthorized Advertisements Defacing Bus Stops
Pune, 11th November 2025: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd. (PMPML) has initiated legal action against individuals responsible for defacing a bus stop by putting up unauthorized advertisements, banners, posters, and plexiglass at the Srushti Hotel Chowk bus stop in the Pimpri Chinchwad area.
Acting on the directions of the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) issued on November 8, 2025, a case has been registered at Sangvi Police Station under Section 3 of the Maharashtra Defacement of Property Act, 1995. The section deals with offences related to defacing or damaging public property.
According to PMPML officials, the unauthorized advertisements were displayed without the corporation’s permission, leading to legal proceedings against those involved. The CMD has also instructed all depot managers to carry out regular inspections of bus stops and sheds within their respective jurisdictions, ensuring that such defacements are promptly removed and offenders are penalized.
PMPML reiterated its commitment to maintaining clean and safe public transport infrastructure. The corporation has appealed to citizens to cooperate by reporting any instances of unauthorized advertising at bus stops to the nearest depot manager.
