Pune, 15th October 2026: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) will set up a dedicated facilitation centre to address technical and administrative hurdles faced by industries and expedite approval processes for industrial proposals across its jurisdiction.

The decision was taken by metropolitan commissioner Dr Abhijit Chaudhary to make industrial clearances faster, simpler and more transparent.

At a meeting with representatives of industrial associations at PMRDA’s headquarters in Akurdi on Tuesday, Chaudhary reviewed issues related to development permissions, fire no-objection certificates (NOCs), difficulties with the Building Plan Management System (BPMS), fee structures, documentation requirements, zoning opinions and pending industrial proposals.

Additional metropolitan commissioner K Manjulakshmi, department heads and officials, and representatives of industrial associations from Chakan, Hinjewadi, Ranjangaon, Talegaon, Pirangut and other industrial areas attended the meeting.

Chaudhary said all industrial proposals would be processed through the fully online BPMS platform to improve transparency. The proposed facilitation centre will coordinate between PMRDA officials and BPMS representatives to promptly resolve difficulties faced by industrialists and architects during the application process.

He also directed officials to provide industrial associations with details of applicable fees, lists of required documents and other essential information to help applicants navigate the approval process.

The meeting also addressed infrastructure-related concerns in industrial areas, including traffic congestion, poor road conditions and inadequate basic amenities. PMRDA has sought a list of roads requiring priority repairs from industrial associations.

Chaudhary also directed officials to identify suitable land for a truck terminal to accommodate heavy vehicles and determine locations for fire stations in industrial areas.

The authority aims to improve the business environment and accelerate industrial development across the Pune metropolitan region. The facilitation centre is expected to help resolve industry-related issues more efficiently and speed up the implementation of industrial projects.
