Pune Police Announces Traffic Diversions Near Shimla Office Chowk for Metro Work
Pune, 16th May 2024: Girder launching and pillar construction for a metro station near Shimla Office Chowk in Pune city will commence soon. To mitigate potential traffic congestion during this period, Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohidas Pawar, of the Traffic Branch of Pune City Police Commissionerate, has announced changes to traffic flow in and around Shimla Office Chowk starting from Friday the 17th.
All vehicles will be directed to travel one way from Veer Chaphekar Chowk to Narveer Tanaji Wadi via KB Joshi Road, leading up to Shimla Office Chowk (ST Stand Road). Entry from the Veer Chaphekar Chowk flyover towards the Shimla Office will be closed.
An alternative route is available: vehicles can utilize the service road near Veer Chaphekar flyover and make a left turn towards Narveer Tanaji Wadi from Veer Chaphekar Chowk, followed by a right turn towards Shimla Office.
Entry from FC Road to Shimla Office Chowk via Veer Chaphekar Chowk will be closed.
Alternate route: From Chaphekar Chowk go straight to Narveer Tanaji Wadi Chowk and then turn right to Shimla Office Chowk.
Entry from Narveer Tanaji Wadi to Veer Chaphekar Chowk will also be closed.
Alternate route: Take a left from Narveer Tanaji Wadi to proceed straight towards Shimla Office, then make a right turn at Chaphekar Chowk.
Entry for vehicles traveling from SG Barve Chowk to Shivajinagar Railway Station via Shimla Office Chowk will be closed.
Alternate route: Turn left at Shimla Office Chowk toward Veer Chaphekar Chowk, then turn right at Veer Chaphekar Chowk and right again at Narveer Tanaji Wadi Chowk to reach Shivajinagar Railway Station.
Entry from Shivajinagar Railway Station to Narveer Tanaji Wadi via ST Stand Circle will be prohibited.
Alternate routes: Vehicles destined for Savitribai Phule Pune University from Shimla Chowk should take the Veer Chaphekar flyover from the LIC side.
No parking will be allowed for all vehicles from Veer Chaphekar Chowk to Narveer Tanaji Wadi Chowk on Shimla Office Road.
