Pune Police Arrest Four Persons For Growing Ganja On Farm In Mulshi, 250 Plants Seized

Pune, 23rd October 2021: The sleuths from the Anti Narcotics Cell of Pune City Police have arrested four accused and have recovered around 250 plants of Ganja (marijuana) from their farm. The accused were involved in commercial sell of Ganja by producing it in their farm.

According to police they had arrested two accused initially in a case registered at Kothrud police station on Friday. They have been identified as Saheba Hulgappa Mehtre (20) and Chetan Maruti Mohal (27), both residents of Kothrud.

Police had seized 500 grams of marijuana from them. On questioning them, the cops learnt that marijuana was being cultivated at Ambarvet village in Mulshi taluka by Prakash Waghoji Khedekar (35) and Indubai Khedekar (65). Police raided their house and seized 18 kg ganja. During further investigation they revealed information about their Ganja farm and took police team there.

Police have recovered 18 kg ganja worth Rs 3.8 lakh and 250 plants of Ganja weighing 155 kg from the farm worth Rs 7.71 lakh.

Ganja farming busted by Pune city police

The action was taken under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta, Jt CP Ravindra Shisve, Additional CP (Crime) Ramnath Pokale, DCP Shriniwas Ghadge, ACP (Crime 2) Laxman Borate.

The team included Police Inspector Prakash Khandekar, Vinayak Gaikwad, Assistant Police Inspector Laxman Dhengale, PSI Digambar Chavan and police personnel Sujit Wadekar, Sandip Jadhav, Manoj Salunke, Maruti Pardhi, Pandurang Pawar, Pravin Uttekar, Vishal Dalvi, Sandesh Kakde, Vishal Shinde, Nitesh Jadhav, Yogesh Mohite, Rehana Shaikh, Santosh Deshpande, Prashant Bomadandi, Mayur Suryavanshi, Chetan Gaikwad, Sahil Shaikh, Azim Shaikh, Yogesh Mandhare, Nitin Jagdale, Yuvraj Kamble, Santosh Jachak, Mahesh Salunke and Disha Khewalkar.
