Pune Police Arrest Sassoon Hospital Security Guard for Sending Bomb Threat Messages

Pune, 14th May 2025: On 12th May, Sassoon General Hospital doctors received bomb threat messages on their mobile phones from an unknown number, prompting immediate action by Bund Garden Police and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS). The hospital premises were thoroughly searched, and a case was registered for creating panic among hospital staff, patients, and visitors.
Following a detailed investigation led by Inspector Swapnil Lohar and a team of officers, 29-year-old Arvind Krishna Kokani, a security guard employed at Sassoon Hospital, was arrested on 14th May. Kokani confessed to stealing a mobile phone from a female patient in Ward 73 and using it to send threatening messages to doctors, including Dr. Harish Suresh Tatiya and Medical Superintendent Jadhav. After sending the messages, he would switch off the phone to avoid detection.
