Pune Police Arrest Two Teenagers in Wagholi with 100 Suspected Intoxicant Injection Bottles

Wagholi, 24th July 2026: Pune City Police’s Zone 7 special team arrested two 19-year-old men in Wagholi for allegedly transporting 100 bottles of injections intended for misuse as an intoxicant, Deputy Commissioner of Police Abinash Kumar said.

“Acting under ‘Mission Crackdown’, the special team laid a trap near Orchid Sai Properties on IV Estate Road in Wagholi at around 6.15 am on July 22 and intercepted the two suspects,” Kumar said.

The accused have been identified as Suraj Padmakar Bhute, 19, and Akash Ganesh Dhanwate, 19, both residents of 12th Mile in Lonikand, Pune.

“The two were travelling on a motorcycle bearing registration number MH 12 ZF 7436. They were allegedly found carrying 100 bottles of 30-ml injections bearing the name ‘TERMIVA’,” the DCP said.

“Preliminary questioning indicated that the accused had ordered the injections online. Further investigation is underway to ascertain their source and intended distribution,” Kumar added.

According to the DCP, police seized the 100 injection bottles valued at ₹31,387, the motorcycle worth ₹80,000, and two mobile phones valued at ₹90,000. The total value of the seized property was ₹2,01,387.

The accused and the seized property were handed over to Wagholi Police Station’s day-duty officer, Police Sub-Inspector Darshan Devgade, for further legal action and investigation.

The operation was conducted on the basis of confidential information by a team comprising Assistant Police Inspector Gorakhnath Kharad, Police Sub-Inspector Nitin Rathod, police havaldars Sushil Bendre, Vilas Kedari and Ganesh Ithape, and police constables Hariprasad Punde, Shubham Chinake, Amol Sartape and Lalu Karhe.

DCP Kumar said Zone 7 Police would continue taking stringent action against banned gutka, narcotics, illicit liquor, gambling and other illegal activities.

“These operations will be conducted with greater intensity. Citizens should provide information about criminal gangs, illegal gutka sales, narcotics, illicit liquor, gambling, unlawful possession of weapons or any other illegal activity,” he said.

“The identity of every person sharing information will be kept strictly confidential. One tip-off can lead to major action against crime,” Kumar added.
