Pune Police Arrests Man Who Forced Two Minor Girls To Beg

Pune, 20th August 2022: On 19th August, while patrolling near the traffic signal at Blue Nile Chowk, the social security cell of Pune police’s Crime Branch caught a man who had forced two minor girls to beg for money.

The arrested man has been identified as Rahul Pannalal Thakur (20). The girls were begging from the passerbys arriving on the street. Thakur has been detained at Bundagarden Police Station and a case has been registered against him under section 76 of the Juvenile Justice Act.

 

Both the minor girls were rescued from begging and were presented before the Child Welfare Committee.

 

The action was taken under the orders and guidance of Amitabh Gupta, Commissioner of Pune Police, Joint Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, Additional Commissioner of Pune Police (Crime) Ramnath Pokle and Deputy Commissioner of Police Shrinivas Ghadge.
