Pune Police Arrests Mobile Phone Thief From Jharkhand, Recovers 29 Stolen Phone

Pune, 5th July 2023: The Samarth police station in Pune has successfully apprehended an individual involved in mobile phone theft. The accused, Kundankumar Arjun Mahato (25) hailing from Jharkhand and currently residing in Mumbai’s Andheri area, was found in possession of 29 stolen smartphones valued at Rs 5,09,000.

Acting on a tip-off, police constables Rohidas Waghire and Jitendra Pawar, while on patrol, received information about a suspicious individual at Ganj Peth Fish Market. The police investigation team promptly responded to the tip and arrested the suspect at the fish market location. A thorough search of the accused led to the recovery of 29 mobile phones.

The arrested individual, Kundankumar Arjun Mahato, was presented before the court and has been remanded in police custody for four days. Further investigation by the police has revealed that the accused had traveled to Jharkhand and sold the stolen mobile phones at reduced prices.
