Pune Police Arrests Thief Who Married Every Six Months, Involved in over 50 Theft Cases

Pune, October 7, 2019 : A 46-year-old flamboyant thief, who is involved in over 50 house break-in theft cases, has been arrested by Kondhwa police station, under Pune city police. He changed his address every six months and also married a new woman every six months. He has six wives.

The cops have recovered Rs 10 lakhs cash and 470 grams gold ornaments worth Rs 18.8 lakhs, from accused Nilesh Akash Kale of Dehuroad. Police have also arrested jeweller Dattatraya Baged of Chakan, who used to buy stolen ornaments from him.

Joint Commissioner Ravindra Shisve , DCP (Zone 5) Suhas Bawache informed the media about the case during a press conference today at Police Commissioner office in Camp.

Jt CP Shisve said that the accused used target homes in buildings where there were no security guards and he broke into flats between 10 am to 2 pm. The cops zeroed on Kale after checking footages of about 250 CCTV cameras and finally traced him to Dehu road.

Senior Police Inspector Murlidhar Karpe of Kondhwa police station said that the accused changed his address every six months to evade arrest.

DCP (Zone 5) Bawache said that the accused thief had 30 cases earlier and he was released on bail in 2017. He has been now arrested for his alleged involvement in 20 cases.
