Yerwada, 10th January 2025: In a bold move to curb the growing influence of criminal elements, Pune police acted swiftly against a rally organized by supporters of MCOCA goon Prafulla alias Guddaya Ganesh Kasbe in the Laxmi Nagar area on the night of January 7. The rally, which featured 20 to 25 supporters riding motorcycles and chanting slogans like ‘Aaya Mera Bhai Aaya’, was a clear display of power by Kasbe’s followers.

The rally, conducted at 10:30 pm, took place shortly after Kasbe, who had recently been released from Yerawada Central jail, regained his freedom. The participants, flaunting their support for Kasbe, were using this public display to intimidate locals and demonstrate their influence over the area.

However, the rally did not go unnoticed. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Himmat Jadhav, upon learning of the event, immediately ordered action. By the time police arrived, the rally had dispersed, but not before authorities launched a manhunt for those involved. The Yerawada police arrested nine individuals who participated in the rally, sending a clear message to those involved in such activities. An FIR was registered against them, informed Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Shelke, in-charge of Yerawada police station.

The arrested individuals, all from the Rajiv Gandhinagar and Sangamwadi areas, were identified as Tushar Suresh Pethe (20),Rahul Dhananjay Rasal (19), Kailas Vilas Dolas (32), Roshan Devanand Patil (24), Ashish Vijay Navgire (18), Amol Sukhdev Sarode (19), Vishal Shankar Singh (20) and Chirag Gurudayal Tusamanda (25).

In a show of force and to break the terror created by these criminals, the police took the arrested individuals through Laxmi Nagar in handcuffs, parading them publicly. In a symbolic act of humbling the goons, the police also tied them to a rope and walked them down the same streets where they had previously demonstrated their dominance.

“This action is a strong message to anyone trying to flaunt their power in front of the police. Those involved in criminal activities should understand that this will be their fate if they continue to defy the law,” said a senior police officer.

The message was loud and clear: the law will not tolerate such attempts to intimidate citizens or flaunt criminal influence. The police’s swift and decisive action has helped restore a sense of security in the area, sending a warning to criminals that their power plays will not go unpunished.
