Pune Police Destroy Seized Narcotic Drugs Worth Rs 4.5 Crore

Pune, 24 March 2021: Narcotics worth Rs 4.5 crore confiscated from 28 police stations under Pune Police commissionerate was destroyed at Bharat Forge company, Mundhwa. The drugs included Cocaine, Mephedrone, brown sugar and other drugs.

The drugs that were destroyed included marijuana (Ganja) 655 kg worth Rs 31,655 lakh, Charas 400 gram worth Rs 2.78 lakh, Cocaine 1,821 kg worth Rs 6.40 lakh, Mephedrone worth Rs 6.40 lakh, Brown sugar 4.352 kg worth Rs 1.74 crore, Amphetamine Rs 7.70 lakh, Methaqualone Rs 14,44 lakh.

The drugs were destroyed on the orders of a committee formed by Police commissioner Amitabh Gupta and joint commissioner Ravindra Shisve.

The team created under additional commissioner Ashok Morale included DCP (Crime) Shriniwas Ghadge, ACP Laxman Borate, Surendranath Deshmukh, senior police inspector Vinayak Gaikwad, Prakash Khandekar, Ganesh Mane, assistant police inspector Laxman Dengale, Amol Gawali, and police personnel Pravin Shirke, Pramod Dherange, Anil Bhog, Harshal Dhusane, Ganesh Deshpande, Rahul Joshi, Sandeep Jadhav and Pandurang Pawar.
