Pune Police Detain Two Suspects In Connection With Murder of BJP Leader Tilekar’s Uncle
Hadapsar, 10th December 2024: In a shocking incident, Satish Wagh, maternal uncle of BJP leader and MLC Yogesh Tilekar from Hadapsar, was abducted on Tuesday morning from Fursungi Phata. Hours later, Wagh’s body was discovered within the jurisdiction of the Yavat police station under Pune rural police jurisdiction.
According to Pune Police, Wagh was out for a morning walk when three to four individuals forcibly pulled him into a four-wheeler. A witness alerted Wagh’s family, who immediately reported the incident to the police. Despite prompt action, Wagh’s lifeless body was found later in the evening, reportedly killed with a sharp weapon shortly after the abduction.
The case has caused an uproar, with questions raised about the safety of citizens and criticism aimed at the ruling party’s ability to ensure law and order.
Additional Commissioner of Police (East Region) Manoj Patil revealed that 16 teams have been formed to track the suspects. “We are investigating the case from multiple angles, including technical aspects,” he said.
Police sources confirmed that two suspects have been detained and are currently being interrogated. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the remaining culprits.
