Pune Police Register Case Against Maharashtra State Council Of Examination Commissioner and Her Brother For Cheating Youths

Hadapsar, 23rd February 2023: Pune city police have booked Commissioner of Maharashtra State Council of Examination, Shailaja Ramchandra Darade and her brother for allegedly duping youths under the pretext of helping them get jobs.

The case was registered at Hadapsar police station following a complaint filed by a teacher named Popat Sukhdev Suryavanshi, a resident of Sangli district.

According to the complaint, Dadasaheb Ramchandra Darade, a resident of Indapur, came in contact with the teacher in June 2019 and claimed that his sister, Shailja Darade, was an administrative officer in the education department. He promised to secure teaching jobs for two female relatives of the complainant and took a total of Rs 27 lakh from them in Hadapsar. However, the promised jobs were not provided, and despite repeated requests, the money was not returned.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a total of 44 people were cheated in a similar manner. The police have registered a case against the Darade siblings under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation is going on in the case.
