Pune Police Seize Drugs Worth Rs 25.51 Lakh in Three Separate Operations
Pune, 31st January 2025: The Anti-Narcotics Cell of Pune Police conducted three successful operations in the past two days, resulting in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of drugs valued at Rs 25.51 lakh.
In the most recent operation earlier today, based on a tip-off received by Police Constable Chetan Gaikwad, authorities seized 83 grams of mephedrone (MD) worth Rs 19.17 lakh from the Dhanori area. Kumel Mohammad Tamboli, a 28-year-old resident of Dhanori, was detained in connection with this case, which has been registered at the Airport Police Station.
Yesterday, acting on the information provided by Police Constable Azim Shaikh, officers apprehended a suspicious individual in the Pune Market Yard area. The suspect, identified as Saifan alias Shafiq Ismail Shaikh, a 52-year-old resident of Anand Nagar, was found in possession of 350 grams of marijuana valued at Rs 7,000.
In a third operation, Police Constable Sandeep Shirke’s tip-off led to the detention of Kiran Bhausaheb Tujare, a 24-year-old resident of Wagholi. Tujare was caught carrying 30.35 grams of MD drugs worth Rs 6.27 lakh. A case has been registered against him at the Airport Police Station.
These operations were carried out under the directives of senior police officials.
