Pune Police Seize Rs 21.64 Lakh Contraband, Arrest 85 in Zone 7 During ‘Flush Out’ Drive
Pune, 17th April 2026: Pune Police arrested 85 persons and registered 65 criminal cases between April 7 and April 15 under Zone 7 limits during a special enforcement campaign aimed at curbing public nuisance, substance abuse and violations of law and order.
The drive targeted those consuming alcohol in public places, persons under the influence of narcotic substances, individuals creating disturbances while intoxicated, and others breaching public order norms.
The special operation, named “Flush Out”, was launched under the directions of the Pune Police Commissioner and carried out across the Zone 7 jurisdiction.
During the operation, police also seized contraband and other material worth Rs 21,64,600 from those booked in the cases. Preventive action was also initiated against several accused persons, officials said.
Police officials said the drive aimed to improve safety in public places and curb unlawful behaviour linked to intoxication and disorderly conduct. Authorities added that similar stringent action and preventive operations would continue in the coming days to maintain law and order in the city.
The operation is part of Pune Police’s ongoing efforts to ensure safer public spaces and stricter enforcement against anti-social activities.
