Pune Police Seizes 3 Kg Opium Worth Rs 8.5 Lakh, Youth From Rajasthan Arrested

Pune, 18th July 2022: The officials from Crime Branch Unit One of the Pune city police laid a trap and arrested one person who came to sell drugs. Nearly three kilos of opium, a narcotic substance, has been seized from him.

The arrested person has been identified as Raju Pratamram Gurjar (22), a resident of Gokhalenagar, and a native of Rajasthan. A case has been registered in this matter at Vishrambaug Police Station.

 

Acting patrolling on Saturday, a team of Police Inspector Sandeep Bhosle and Sub-Inspector Sanjay Gaikwad nabbed the accused at Hirabaug Chowk on Tilak Road.

 

According to the police, he had a sack with him. He tried to run away when the police were approaching him. But, the team caught him. When his bag was searched, opium was found in it. It was then seized and he was detained. The seized opium is worth Rs 8.5 lakh.

 

Police are doing inquiries asking him about the source of the opium, his accomplices, and the buyer of the narcotic drug.

 

The action was taken under the guidance of DCP Shriniwas Ghadge, ACP Gajanan Tompe, Police Inspector Sandeep Bhosle, Sub-Inspector Sanjay Gaikwad, Sunil Kulkarni, Ajay Jadhav, and police personnel Ajay Thorat, Nilesh Sable, Amol Pawar and Aniket Babar.
