Pune, 15th February 2025: Maharashtra Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced at the Tarang 2025 event that Pune Police will be provided with 39 new four-wheelers and a significant number of two-wheelers to enhance crime-solving efficiency.

Speaking at the event, Fadnavis emphasized the importance of this move in improving policing and response times. “The motive is to help policing and crime-solving. This will save time, and the police will reach incident spots sooner,” he told the media.

The event was attended by Union Minister of State Murlidhar Mohol, Maharashtra Minister Chandrakant Patil, and several local MLAs and MLCs. When questioned about the issue of love jihad, Fadnavis dismissed the topic, saying, “Who is raising the issue of love jihad? Leave it.” He further clarified that the police, not the government, is responsible for handling such matters.

Tarang, an annual cultural festival organized by Pune Police, aims to promote camaraderie, mental well-being, and stress relief among officers. The event features music, dance, drama, and sports, allowing personnel and their families to showcase their talents and unwind. It also serves as a bridge between law enforcement and the community, reinforcing a positive public image of the police force.
