Pune, 15th October 2021: Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta has informed that Pune city police have withdrawn a look out circular (LOC) issued against Union Minister Narayan Rane’s wife Neelam and son Nitesh for defaulting on loans taken from DHFL.

Look out circular (LOC) is a circular letter used by authorities to check whether a traveling person is wanted by the police. It may be used at immigration checks international airports or sea ports.

According to police, the Ranes had taken a loan of Rs 65 crores from DHFL. The company had complained to the central government which sent a letter to the Maharashtra state government to take action. Accordingly, last month Pune police had sent a letter to the Assistant Director of the Bureau of Immigration (BOI) at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Mumbai International Airport to open the look out circular.

Meanwhile, the Pune police received a letter from the DHFL stating that the people concerned repaid the outstanding money. Hence, the police withdrew the notice issued against them.
