Pune: Pothole-Evading Maneuver Results in Head-On Accident in Junnar, 8 Injured
Junnar, 10th September 2024: An accident occurred early this morning in Kolwadi, Taluka Junnar, involving a minibus and a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The collision, which took place around 7:30 am, happened as the vehicles were maneuvering to avoid potholes on the road. The accident resulted in eight passengers being injured, with two children and one woman reported to be in critical condition.
The incident involved an Ertiga car traveling from Alephata and a minibus transporting passengers from Thane, who were headed towards Alephata for religious purposes. The two vehicles collided head-on, causing significant damage and injuries.
Ambulance drivers Deepak Mandlik, Kunal Dumbare, Ganesh Amle, and Datta Shinde promptly arrived at the scene and transported the injured to a private hospital in Alephata for immediate treatment.
Local youths including Mahendra Saste, Vishal Saste, Rituraj Kumkar, Babu Kumkar, Akshay Kumkar, Nilesh Kumkar, Rajesh Kokane, Somnath Choudhari, Mahesh Saste, and Rahul Sukale, along with Otur police personnel, assisted at the scene. They helped with first aid, removed the damaged vehicles from the road, and managed traffic flow to prevent further accidents.
