Pune, 22nd October 2022: The Pune-Nashik Semi High-Speed Rail Project, which has passed through various stages for the last several years, is now being prepared for final approval by the Ministry of Railways. This project is very important to achieve the golden triangle of development of Mumbai-Pune-Nashik, and the work is currently being done. Therefore, MP Amol Kolhe warned that he will also protest on occasion to make this project happen.

Regarding the Pune-Nashik Semi High-Speed Rail Project, the Ministry of Railways has raised some technical issues and advised to consider the ‘Railway Come Road’. Therefore, the project is likely to fail.

In this background, Kolhe held a press conference and explained his position. Kolhe said, “We have been pursuing this project for many years. After the approval of the State Government, Railway Board etc, there are no doubts about this project which is in the stage of being sent for final approval by the Ministry of Railways.”

“The process of land acquisition for this project has also been initiated. On the one hand, the foreign technology project of the bullet train is taken forward. However, the project of semi-high speed with fully indigenous technology is being undermined by the term ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’,” he added further.

This public welfare project is important in terms of development. Therefore, Kolhe appealed that the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister should use their position in Delhi to get this project going without any political motive. He also clarified that he will also meet the Railway Minister in Delhi, similarly, he will raise this issue in the Lok Sabha and hold an agitation on occasion.
