Pune Railway Division Fines Over 27,000 Travellers Without Tickets In October
Pune, 1st November 2022: During the ticket checking on Pune Railway Division in October, more than 27 thousand people were found travelling without tickets, and more than Rs 2.30 crore were collected from them. A fine of Rs 81 thousand was imposed while Rs 41 thousand fine was recovered from 300 people for carrying unbooked goods. In seven months from April to October this year, in 2,05,400 cases, Rs 14.68 crores were recovered as fines. In this way, a growth of 22% has been registered, which is a record achievement, already exceeding the target of realization of revenue for the current financial year.
The above action was taken by the ticket-checking inspectors under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Renu Sharma and in coordination with Additional Divisional Railway Manager Brijesh Kumar Singh, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dr Milind Hirve, and Divisional Commercial Manager Dr Ramdas Bhise.
This type of ticket checking is being run regularly by the Railway Administration. Passengers are requested to travel only by taking proper tickets, otherwise, they will have to pay a fine under the Railways Act, and in case of non-payment, there may be a jail term.
