Pune Railway Station Adds New Lifts, Water Cooler for Divyangjan and Senior Citizens

Pune, 10th June 2025: As part of ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility and passenger amenities, Pune Division of Central Railway inaugurated two new lifts and a water cooler facility at Pune Railway Station on June 10, 2025. The upgrades are aimed at easing travel for Divyangjan, senior citizens, and women travellers.

The new lifts have been installed at Platform No. 6 side circulating area and Platform No. 1, while a new water cooler has been made available on Platform No. 1. These additions are intended to improve access and provide basic facilities to passengers.

The inauguration was conducted by Muralidhar Mohol, Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation, Government of India. He was joined by Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Kumar Verma, Additional Divisional Railway Manager P. U. Jadhav, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager Anil Kumar Pathak, Sr. Divisional Electrical Engineer (General) Parag Aknurwar, and other officials from Pune Division, Central Railway.

The initiative is part of the division’s broader infrastructure development programme, focused on improving comfort and accessibility at the station for all categories of passengers.
