Pune: Rape Accused Escapes From Police Custody From Magarpatta Police Chowky
Pune 4th Sept 2023: An accused arrested by Pune City police on charges of rape escaped from a police custody when he was taken out for investigation. The incident took place at around 7:30 pm on Monday.
According to police, the accused identified as Pritam Chandulal Oswal (32), a resident of Devachi Uruli was arrested by Hadapsar Police on August 31. The investigation team took him to Magarpatta Police Chowky for investigation when he escaped from the police custody and fled with an unknown person. The accused ran towards Mundhwa with another person on a bike, said police.
The accused was arrested in a case registered at Hadapsar Police Station under sections 376, 376(2), 377, 354(a), 323, 504 and 506(2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Police have launched search for the accused.
