Pune records highest single-day spike of 2132 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

Pune, July 17, 2020: With the addition of 2132 fresh Coronavirus positive yesterday, the total number of COVID cases has reached 44,968 in Pune district. Also, 1221 patients got discharged from hospitals while 38 people died.

 

Dr Bhagwan Pawar, District Health Officer (DHO), said that out of total 44,968 patients 28,921 have been cured and discharged from hospitals, while 1214 people have died. There are still 14,796 active patients undergoing treatment including 657 critical patients. Most of the patients are from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area. Till now 2,73,604 people have been tested in the district.

 

The 44,968 patients include 30,754 from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area, 9387 from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), 677 from Pune Cantonment, 405 from Khadki Cantonment, 115 from Dehuroad Cantonment, 2856 from Pune rural areas and 774 from municipal council (Nagar Parishad) areas in the district. In the Pune rural areas and Nagar Parishad, there are 46 from Baramati town, 20 from Baramati rural, 146 from Daund town, 19 from Jejuri, 77 from Talegaon Dabhade, 105 from Chakan, 174 from Saswad, 37 from Alandi, 18 from Lonavala, 27 from Shirur town, 14 from Junnar town, 32 from Indapur town, 16 from Bhor town, 9 from Vadgaon, 54 from Rajguru Nagar, 1196 from Haveli, 156 from Shirur, 197 from Junnar rural, 341 from Khed, 277 from Mulshi, 49 from Velha, 96 from Bhor, 44 from Indapur rural, 85 from Daund rural, 175 from Maval,104from Purandar and 116 from Ambegaon.

 

In Maharashtra, a total of 5527 patients were discharged while 8641 new Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday. Also, 266 deaths reported in the state yesterday. The current count of COVID19 patients in the state of Maharashtra is 2,84,281 informed State Health Minister Rajesh Tope.

 

According to the state health department, 1,58,140 patients have been cured. As of yesterday, there are 1,14,648 active cases in the state. The recovery rate in the state is 55.63% while the fatality rate in the state is 3.94%.

 

According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 968,876 across the country. Out of this, 612,814 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 24,915 people have died and one patient has migrated out of the country. There are still 331,146 active patients undergoing treatment in hospitals across the country.
