A section of residents of the society claimed that there are over 100 stray dogs on the premises, which is causing them trouble. They also claimed that such incidents have taken place in the past as well.

In this regard, the residents have lodged a complaint with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pune Police. While in coordination with PMC, over 50 stray dogs of the society have been taken into custody by the civic body. This drive was going on even as of Wednesday morning.

Citizens of the Brahma Society have staged a silent protest against the issue. While talking to PunekarNews.in Sumit Karnik, a resident of Brahma Suncity Society informed that there are 1,200 flats in the society where 5,000 residents are residing. There are over 80 dogs in the vicinity of the society which are causing great discomfort to not only the citizens but also others who are coming into the society.

“We are not able to use parking as 20-25 dogs are staying there, eating and pooping. It’s extremely unhygienic. We are forced to live with 80 dogs and we don’t want that.”

Karnik further stated that the protest was to highlight the discomfort and unhygienic life the residents are living due to these dogs.
