Pune: Rise in COVID cases in and around Hinjawadi, some areas sealed

Hinjawadi, June 28, 2020: Two new COVID patients have been detected in Hinjawadi while one person was found Coronavirus positive in Nerhe Dattawadi near Hinjawadi. Five members of his family and five others who came in contact with the man from Nerhe Dattawadi have been quarantined and the area has been declared as a micro-containment zone.

According to the Maan Primary Health Centre officials, one resident of Hinjawadi has tested COVID positive. Also, one person from Yerwada who works with a private company in Hinjawadi has been found Coronavirus positive.

Meanwhile, Hinjawadi police have sealed off the Nerhe Dattawadi area. Also, the villagers from Nerhe and Marunji villagers have observed a lockdown in the village on their own. Nerhe Gram Panchayat has started penal action against those who walk without masks. The construction work and shops in the area have been kept closed. After a person was found positive in Marunji, villagers have called for a voluntary complete shutdown for the next four days.
