Kharadi, 29th November 2025: A 35-year-old senior IT consultant sustained a stab injury near his rib after a road rage incident escalated into violence in Kharadi on Wednesday evening. The confrontation began when the side mirrors of the consultant’s scooter and an SUV brushed against each other on a narrow stretch of road.

Police said the SUV driver and a woman accompanying him confronted the victim, assaulted him and later attacked him with a knife. The Kharadi police have launched a search for both suspects.

The injured man, who works with a major software company and also tutors students in the area, was on his way to conduct a private class when the incident took place.

Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Chavan of Kharadi police station said the prime suspect has been identified. “The accused is a resident of a nearby taluka and has not been found at his home since the incident. He was travelling with a woman. We are tracking them and expect to make arrests soon,” he said.

According to investigators, the dispute turned violent soon after both vehicles came to a halt. “The SUV driver stopped, hurled abuses and then assaulted the consultant,” an officer involved in the probe said. “When the victim attempted to defend himself, the woman also stepped out and joined in the assault.”

The officer added that the situation worsened when the victim questioned why he was being beaten. “The man went back to the SUV, grabbed a knife and stabbed the consultant below his right shoulder, before both suspects fled in the vehicle,” he said.

The victim managed to reach a private hospital where he was admitted for treatment. His statement was later recorded, and a complaint was registered on Thursday. Police booked the suspects under sections 115 and 118 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.

Police have obtained a detailed description of the accused pair and intensified their efforts to locate them.
