Pune: Robbers Use Gelatin To Blast Axis Bank ATM, Decamp With Rs 16 Lakh; Pimpri Chinchwad Police Conducting Investigation
Alandi, 26th December 2021: An Axis Bank ATM was blown up by unidentified persons in Chimbali under Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. The accused decamped with Rs 16 lakh.
The ATM was blown up around 4 am today. The accused had locked houses near the ATM from outside, said Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Prerna Katte.
According to the police, 3 to 4 unidentified persons used explosives to blow up the ATM. The explosion caused the machine to open and the accused decamped with Rs 16 lakh cash.
The incident came to light after a local resident saw the accused while hiding in his house and informed the police.
The incident took place after a police patrolling team had passed the spot.
