Pune: Rs 193 Crore Tender From PMC For Asphalting City Roads

Pune, 8th November 2022: A tender of Rs 193 crore has been sanctioned by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for asphalting and cement concreting of dilapidated roads in the city. Under that, 50 major roads will be asphalted.

 

Due to continuous road digging, the roads in the city are in bad condition and road repair work has been undertaken by the Municipal Corporation. The Estimates Committee has also approved the expenditure of Rs 212 crores for the first phase of road repairs. Under that, a short-term tender of Rs 193 crores has been issued by the administration. PMC has claimed that these roads will not be dug again.

50 major roads in the city will be asphalted, and some roads will be given cement layers. The Road Department informed that the road repair work has been undertaken immediately to keep the roads in good condition following the G-20 conference to be held in January.

 

A total length of 140 kilometres of roads will be asphalted and after the approval of the Standing Committee, the asphalting works will be taken up immediately. A period of six months has been fixed for this. In the second phase, it is proposed to carry out works worth Rs 300 crores, it was said by the road department officials.
