Pune: Rs 32 Lakh Fined From 619 Shops By Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department

Pune, 9th March 2023: A mitigation fee of Rs 32,60,700 has been deposited to the government through punitive action against 619 establishments in the district for violating the metrology rules in 2022-23 under the Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection.

Recently, a special inspection campaign of chicken and mutton-selling establishments was carried out by the Department. In this, 100 establishments have been inspected, and penal action has been taken against 60 establishments found guilty.

Action is taken against the sellers if there is any violation of rules, such as not having ingredients on the included items, falsifying the original printed price, selling the item at a higher price than the printed price, not having a weighing fork available with the delivery boy delivering the gas cylinder, and others.
