Pune Security Professionals Forum distributes groceries to labourers in Shirur, Pune
Pune, April 22, 2020: As a gesture of goodwill, the Pune Security Professionals (PSP) Forum distributed groceries and essential items to labourers and their families working in and around Pune. About 100 families across Pune and Shirur taluka were provided with edible goods by the forum under supervision and assistance of Santosh Kumar Deshmukh (SDO), sub-divisional officer of Pune Shirur Division. The forum also received support from the Lions Club and the Rotary Club for the same.
In their fight against the Corona virus, PSP Forum members including Mangesh Kate and Lloyds Dass, Milind Datar and Kirti Datar from Canectar Foods Pvt Ltd, Tina Ratra of Rotary Club, Lokmanya Nagar and Hiraman Gawai of Lions Club of Pune, Akurdi started an initiative called ‘Donate a Meal (s)’ in Pune with cooperation from people from different sectors to help the needy during this critical time.
The forum till date has distributed hand sanitizers to over 1,500 needy people, face masks to about 6,250 citizens and essential service persons, gloves to 200 persons, meals to about 16, 296 people and groceries to about 1,087 poor families. A total of around 46,000 people have been provided with groceries and meals by the forum.
