Pune: Separate Building To Be Constructed For PMC’s Medical College

Pune, 31st December 2022: Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College and Hospital of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has gained speed, and tenders have been opened for the construction of a building to be erected on the premises of Dr Naidu Hospital. The actual work will start after the technical process of approving the tender is completed.

The Municipal Corporation has started a medical college through a charitable organization. Currently teaching is going on in the classrooms set up on the premises of Kamala Nehru Hospital and Baburao Sanas School. It is planned to start the second-year classes after making some changes in the building of Dr Naidu Hospital. At the same time, a separate building for the college and hospital will be constructed on the premises of this hospital. A tender process was conducted for that.

The tender of ‘Generic Engineering Construction and Projects Limited’, a construction company in Mumbai, has come at the lowest rate, i.e. the rate announced by the Municipal Corporation. This tender of Rs 109 crores of this company will be placed before the standing committee meeting for approval. After the approval of the Standing Committee, the technical process will be completed and the actual work will be started.
