Hinjawadi, 21 October 2021: A proposal to form a separate municipal council for Hinjawadi, Maan, Marunji, Nere, Nande and Kasarsai has been sent to the Maharashtra state government. The proposal was sent to the urban development minister after preliminary talks.

Likewise, the divisional commissioner along with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) and Zilla Parishad will submit their reports before any final decision is taken.

Hinjawadi has the biggest IT park with several international companies operating here. The area needs basic and fundamental facilities. For the overall development of the area, it is imperative to have an independent municipal council.

A meeting was convened under the headship of Urban development minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday. PMRDA and officers from Zilla Parishad were present online for the meeting. These six villages fall under PMRDA limits. The Development Plan (DP) for the villages is ready.
